INTERNATIONAL ‘ROVER MOOT’ 2010 – ART, CULTURE & HARITAGE

INTRODUCTION

Global Scouting is borderless. It is not limited to fostering friendships and brotherhood but also it involves in the understanding and ability to indulge in other various fields. In this respect, the art, culture and heritage of an ethnic group or a country has been put as one of the mission in scouting. The richness of art and culture should not seen as only a play or performance but should be understood with knowledge and practice by every scout to promote and exchange of art and culture among scouts all over the world. Its importance is not only to the scouts but towards promoting tourism in the country. Understanding a culture is understanding an ethnic group, race and nationality .This camping is design with its aim to create chain of network, friendship and brotherhood at all levels in Malaysia, Asia Pacific region and other parts of the world.

The Federation of World Scouts have members around the world in almost over 160 countries. The Secretariat expected participation from these member countries in this Rover Moot featuring the theme Art, Culture & Heritage. The first of its kind to be held. It contributes to boost the tourism industry for the country, The organizer hopes that Kelana Seri Angkasa, in particular and Malaysia scout to become ‘Tourism Ambassador’ during this camp.

We believe through this activity, it will show the role and patriotism image of the scouts. This camp shall be very interesting and unforgettable experience to the participants, thus achieving the aim to provide education to the youth in line with the vision and mission of The Scout Federation of Malaysia.
